About Patriot Support

Patriot Support Program was born out of a great need: To support the U.S. Department of Defense and Veterans Administration. The strain of multiple deployments and separations has worn greatly on the bodies, minds and spirits of service members, veterans and their families. It is very common for active duty service members and veterans to struggle with depression, PTS (Post Traumatic Stress), addiction, or other behavioral health issues. We have spent the last several years expanding the locations and resources dedicated for military-specific behavioral health services. We continue to educate staff on military culture and sensitivities at all of our Patriot Support locations to improve on consistent treatment and outcomes. We provide support for all military branches including: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Reserves, and National Guard.

Depression and other behavioral health issues are not just experienced by service members, but also by their families. At Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), we support U.S. military veterans who have given their time, safety and well-being so that we can enjoy the rights, liberties and opportunities our nation offers.

In response to the present and growing need for high quality and intensive behavioral health services, UHS developed the Patriot Support Program network of treatment centers, support staff and medical professionals dedicated to treating active duty members of the military, veterans and their families.

Eleven UHS behavioral health facilities have received designations within the company as Centers of Excellence under the Patriot Support Program, an effort to collaborate with the military on the continuing behavioral health needs of active duty personnel. Each of these facilities operates a dedicated unit for military personnel, with an emphasis on maintaining close communication with military base commanders; with the goal being to return service members to duty with honor or to return them to civilian life, whatever is deemed appropriate by Command.

The Patriot Support Program represents one facet of a multi-pronged approach to serve the needs of members of the military, veterans, and their families. In addition to our 11 Centers of Excellence, 13 other facilities have received the designation of Support Service Centers under Patriot Support. These facilities meet the same high standards we’ve set for our Centers of Excellence but do not have a dedicated unit on campus. In total, the Patriot Support Program is comprised of 24 facilities providing quality, specialized care to our active duty service members and veterans.

The Patriot Support Program of UHS supports dedicated Military Centers of Excellence, Specialized Military Service Centers and more than 100 other TRICARE®-certified facilities, including TRICARE-certified Residential Treatment Centers for children and adolescents.
