The Brook Hospital – Dupont Begins Campus ExpansionLOUISVILLE, Ky. – (Feb. 2, 2010) – The Brook Hospital – Dupont is expanding its campus with the addition of two new units and an outpatient building to meet increasing demands. One unit will exclusively treat Active Duty personnel, Veterans and their families, while the other one will house an adult chemical dependency program. “As we continue to strive to meet the mental health and chemical dependency needs of the community, this expansion will allow us to add more beds and programs,” said Paul Andrews, CEO of The Brook Hospital – Dupont, a Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI), facility. “We are proud to offer a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for children and adults.” For six years, The Brook Hospital – Dupont has provided clinical care for men and women who are currently serving, or have served, in U.S. military forces. As one of PSI’s designated Patriot Support Centers, the facility’s new military unit will commit more resources to military-specific services. The expansion will also feature a unit focused on treating chemical dependency, which will allow adult chemical dependency patients to be housed and programmed separately from the adult psychiatric inpatient population. In addition to the new units, a building is being constructed to allow for more outpatient programs. As part of the hospital’s commitment to community outreach, an auditorium will be included to offer more educational in-services and programs to the public. The expansion will increase The Brook Hospital – Dupont’s total number of licensed beds from 66 to 86 and is expected to be completed August 2010.
